Chronicle

Chronicle is a unique movie with great special effects and portrays a twisted dog eat dog view on life.

The cast and characters remind me a bit of Twilight. Not that this movie is in any way shape or form related. But the cast is a bunch of younger college/university kids that actually put Twilight to shame.
So the jest of the story is the main character is a social outcast in school. He dad beats up on him, hes mom is gravely ill and he gets picked on by piers at school. Due to his misfortunes the character is portrayed as an "emo" sort of kid; hes an average nice guy but people just wont seem to leave him alone.

So the plot thickens when he goes to a house party and a couple of peers he is familiar with discover an odd whole in the ground just off the outskirts in the woods of the party house property. They end up falling into this mysterious puncture in the ground and discover something very bizzare. They seem to make contact with some sort of advanced biological entity that enevitably conceives them with extraordinary psychic and kinetic powers.

At first, the group of young adults are exasperatingly astonished by their new abilities and are using their new found powers to fix problems within their lives. Little did they know that an "Apex Predator,: was slowly manifesting into our emo main character and the new "talents," they have recieved slowly start becoming a curse.

Chronicle is a great movie to watch; it's a little bit out of the ordinary, most scenes are shot from a third person eye of the camera point of view; similar to "Blair Witch." The movie starts off a bit slow and seems kind of pointless. But once the action starts boiling it really cooks up and makes the movie awesome. Great visuals, superb special effects, awesome acting. I really enjoyed watching this movie.
