Django : Unchained

I think it's safe to say that this movie has definitely "unchained," the use of the N word in Hollywood. A lot of the movies hype has been generated by how many times it is said throughout the film. When I heard the racial slur is said so casually in Django I had to see it for myself, to be completely honest it was a bit humorous.

The word is definitely degrading and is said with extreme caution: but for the flip side I think Django helps abolish the controversy around this word and kind of relieves the tension around it. Personally I think we have evolved as a people in today's society where racism isn't much of an issue anymore. Which is fantastic.

The actors are superb! Tarrantino surely picked out a star cast for this film. Jamie Fox and Leonardo Di Caprio really shine throughout the move. Samuel Jackson's character is definitely a "character" indeed. He is sort of a cameo in the movie and a real Easter egg when he shows up on screen.

.

Former star from Inglorious Bastards : Christoph Waltz. Plays almost a doppelganger role of his "Jew Hunting," character in Inglorious Bastards. But in Django he is hunting for good, not evil. Christopher Waltz really helps carry the film and keep scenes enticing an interesting.

Django takes you through some rough areas of black history. Some scenes are a bit violent and disturbing but non the less Tarantino likes to keep his edge of realism and nothing about those days weren't far from violent and disturbing. However the characters and the style in which the movie is portrayed makes it easy to watch and enjoy, while still getting a harsher message through.

I personally enjoyed Django more than Inglorious Bastards and I think Quintin Tarantino did a fine job with this movie. Besides, who else can push the envelope a little and still be loved for making an awesome film! Well done indeed. Go Check it out!
